Vossen’s are the Salvatore Ferragamo’s of the after market wheel scene. They have their own (unique) style, are very well built, and are meant to be driven on. Vossen just unveiled their all new VLE-1 rims, which are limited production. Only 400 sets will be made, making them a super exclusive. But are they worth the hassle and money needed to obtain them? Well let us find out.
In the VLE-1 production video, the creative designer of Vossen stated that these wheels were going to be loved and hated. This becomes apparent when you first look at the wheels. The design is different. Some people say that they look like old Toyota hubcaps, not something you’d want to pay close to $5,000 for. They say they are over hyped, and only the name has value. These people also say Burberry is just a fancy check pattern, and that Express dress shirts are as good.
The thing is, the VLE-1’s aren’t meant for everybody, much like how most of fashion works these days. The VLE-1’s are for enthusiasts, made by enthusiast. The multi-short-spoke design gives these wheels a athletic look. But with the large hub design, which is smoothly transitioned with the spokes, invokes a sense of sophistication and status. And with Vossen’s signature directional skew, the VLE-1’s look absolutely stunning, both in idle and in motion!
The VLE-1’s have a multi-personality design. This means that they can be fitted on almost any car, and look great. If you need proof, just look at the promo-shots on Vossen’s VLE-1 product page. From a Ferrari 458, to an Audi S4 wagon, to a Toyota Siena, all of the cars used to show off the VLE-1’s are different and yet look absolutely stunning in their own sense.
I like the VLE-1’s, a lot! If I had a car, I probably would try my hardest to get set. Like a Rolex on mans wrist, a Louis Vuitton purse in a girl’s hand, or a Vermeer on the wall, the VLE-1’s stir the emotions of everyone who witnesses them. Some people become attached while others become hesitant. But in the end, the sight of those objects gets stuck in the viewers mind (including myself).
