Like movies, cars also come with promotion videos. No, I'm not talking about the Nissan and Honda, and the .9% financing schemes they attempt hammer into your minds. Instead, I'm talking about short films ( and when I mean short I MEAN SHORT) that high end manufactures make about their cars. They don't try and directly sell you the car, instead portray the car in a way that gets your attention...like the Carl's Jr commercials do with supermodels and burgers.
So here are some of my favorites from the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Ferrari 488 GTB
A typical Ferrari film. The 488 is initially portrayed as a calm beast, and then unleashed on the track. Yes, there is a lot of slow mo, tire smoke, and V8 engine noise.
Lamborghini Aventador LP-750 Superveloce
Lamborghini took a "Sherlock Holmes" approach to the Aventador SV film. The film goes over the the plan, in excruciating detail, before actually executing. If you don't know who Sherlock Holmes is...how are you reading this?
The 675LT video is as British as they come. There is rain, a lot of it. There is a dog, barking, in the rain. There is orchestral music in the background. It's dark, very dark. Oh, and there is a McLaren 675LT burning out, in the rain. Tally-Ho!
Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Wow, Porsche actually ditched the stereotypical, German techno music that resided in most of their promo videos. Oh, and there is actually somewhat of a realistic plot.
