Automotive YouTube Channels To Check Out

YouTube is, and has been for some time now, a wonderful place for car enthusiasts to be entertained. Now, more than ever, a wide variety of content creators are working to provide some of the best automotive videos on the internet. A few years ago, we at Oh So Lofty created a few lists of YouTube accounts we considered essential for car lovers. Today, I’d like to re-address this topic and bring more channels to our spotlight. If your favorite automotive channel didn’t make this list, make sure to check out our previous lists (links can be found below), and feel free to leave a comment about your favorite automotive YouTuber!

· Effspot

Starting out this list is the California-based photographer-turned-videographer. Initially known for his impressive array of photos (those can be found on his Instagram, which I highly recommend checking out), he started making videos in the last year or so. While his editing and cinematics are not on par with some of the bigger YouTube channels, the pure quality of cars featured makes this channel worth it. Effspot can often be found traveling the world, providing content you can’t find on any other channel.

· Harry’s Garage

Harry Metcalfe, founder of EVO magazine and all-around car lover, started this channel to share his love of unique cars with the masses. As the former editor of a major automotive magazine, Harry is an incredibly knowledgeable individual, which is clearly demonstrated through his in-depth video style. With cars such as a Lamborghini Countach, a Ferrari Testarossa, and a Jaguar Project 7 in his stable, he provides a rare insight into some of the world’s most special vehicles. It is impossible to watch one of these videos and not learn something new, regardless of the car he’s focused on.

· Motor Trend

This channel was started to supplement the well-known Motor Trend magazine. Big-budget videos are a regular feature on the website, with the newest performance cars being tested in a variety of environments. A duo of charismatic hosts, as well as a professional race car driver, provide an extra layer of entertainment above and beyond the cars themselves. For all the latest reviews, road and track tests, and head-to-head challenges (my personal favorite), this channel is always a reliable source of entertainment.

· Mr JWW

A relative newcomer on the YouTube scene, Mr JWW provides insight into the world of modern supercar ownership. As the owner of cars such as a McLaren 675LT, a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, and a Porsche 911 GT3, this YouTuber is known for his eagerness to share his experiences with the world. Beyond his own cars, which (thankfully) he drives frequently, Mr JWW often attends automotive events that provide a large assortment of automotive eye candy. From going up the hill climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to driving a Formula E car, James always seems to have something exciting up his sleeve.

· Salomondrin

Salomondrin, better known by his rapidly-growing fan base as Alejandro, is a supercar owner with a background in the film industry. This channel features a wide variety of content, from high-budget special features to vlogs and segments where he discusses many interesting aspects of the automotive industry. Alejandro currently owns cars such as the mighty Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren 675LT, Aston Martin DBS, and Porsche 911 R. He has also owned a Pagani Huayra, Mercedes-Benz SLS Black Series, Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and many more in just the past few years alone. Part of this channel’s excitement comes purely from seeing what Alejandro has added to his garage this month. He is known for being raunchier than most automotive content creators, and much of the content is aimed at a more mature audience, but this is one of the fastest-growing channels on YouTube for a reason. The content is fresh, unique, and highly entertaining.
